Podocarpus hallii, Hall’s totara

Podocarpus hallii, Hall’s totara is a high altitude totara, found up in the mountains of Hawke’s Bay. It has a thicker leaf and is shorter than normal totara when it is mature. It has a really distinctive interesting look with thin, strong bark. Nice berries too which are good for birds.
