Sand coprosma starts off a bit wispy but within three years it turns into a bouncy trampoline-like plant which is tough and bright orangey in colour. It lives in the back dunes at several Hawke’s Bay beaches, and is great habitat for skinks and invertebrates. Wonderful mixed in with grasses.
